Although abundant in natural resources, Africa remains the most underdeveloped continent, particularly in the physical and mental aspect. We do not aim to change Africa itself, but to try and make it easier and more enjoyable for its people who have to deal with the consequences of the "modern world". read more...
Children in Africa experience incidents that most of us cannot imagine, but they have to battle through their mental problems on their own. It is recognized in conventional medicine that our physical health is influenced by our mental state, and therefore psychologists or other treatments are available to help us resolve our problems. read more...
Art is an internal appreciation of beauty, balance and harmony, and therefore an aspect of being human; it's a way to express individualism, which makes us who we are. Through art, emotions that are deep in the mind can rise to the surface. read more...

From My Personal Diary
During my time at the orphanage I had no one to talk to except my diary with whom I shared everything I went through - and now I'm sharing with you, the fun and fear of following a dream...
1st October, 2007
So here I am, at the orphanage in Africa - it's happening, and I don't know how to do it alone, all of a sudden I'm so scared! I chose a pretty scary dream to follow...
I sit in my room, that to my surprise is very big when the most I expect was to sleep with the children on the floor so it's already an improvement... and this house where I live is so sweet better than anything I could imagine, its part of the orphanage, but you get a feeling like you have some space. I'm sitting here with all the boxes of art material I brought with me, and I'm freaking out! What do I do with all the kids that are running outside playing games - no one introduced me, not anyone here who speaks English, what am I suppose to do?
My roommates are currently a couple between 70-80 years of age. One is a priest and his wife, a almost complittly def nurse from Hawaii and they had come to heal the children with prayers and toys, a very interesting experience for me.
So I have all I wanted But now how do i do this all alone? This is only my first day here and I know things will slowly move into place. I just want all to go well and hope that I learn Chichewe (the local language) quickly!
